The offense was ranked 67th (!!). Tom Allen / Mike DeBord needs to work on his offense. Cooley is just so consistent. He writes the songs that maybe don’t “stick out” as much at first as the other singers, but that just seems to get better each time you listen to them, especially when you really dig into the lyrics. For me, his songs on this album are outstanding, but maybe don’t feel as integral as his songs are on albums like Southern Rock Opera and Brighter Than Creation’s Dark. What an incredible band though. These guys just check so many of the boxes for admirable attributes of a rock band. Between their “roadwarrior” aspect, their live performances, their songwriting chops, etc… I’m truly glad I gave them a chance.
